As part of the initiative to further develop competition in connections, the provision of unmetered supplies for street lighting and other street furniture services can now be undertaken by suitably accredited connection companies or independent connection providers (ICPs).
To ensure an acceptable quality of work is delivered, the ICP and the Highways Authority should enter into a Construction and Adoption Agreement, known as the tri-partite agreement. Once the assets are adopted, in accordance with the Construction and Adoption Agreement, the installed assets will be operated and maintained by SP Energy Networks.
